Emergency intervention for safety and health protection (MISE) is every immediate or short term intervention placed to solve an emergency situation due to contamination events of any kind, that can contain the primary contamination sources’ spread, avoid their contact with other matrices, present on site, and remove them, before any definitive remediation intervention can occur.
Operative intervention for safety and health protection (MISOP) is the group of interventions, executed on site while the production is active, to guarantee an adequate level of safety for people and environment, waiting for further remediation intervention to be done when the production activity stops. This kind of intervention, also, includes those, transitory, to contain the contamination until the remediation or the permanent intervention occurs. In these cases it is necessary to prepare appropriate monitoring and control plans to verify the efficacy of the adopted solutions.
The word remediation define the group of intervention to eliminate pollution sources, polluted compound and to reduce the concentration of them on soil, subsoil and groundwater to a level equal or lower than the contamination threshold concentration or risk threshold concentration.
In this field SARTEC can develop studies for emergency and operative interventions for safety and health protection, contaminated groundwater and soil remediation, especially in industrial sites. The company can, also, offer assistance to companies in discussions with Authorities.
Our studies include:
- Survey for site characterization;
- Technical-economical feasibility studies based on site data;
- Supply of results and elaboration of site specific risk analysis with the help of appropriate informative systems;
- Monitoring plan design after intervention realization.
The services include:
- Design/realization of emergency intervention for safety and health protection (MISE);
- Design/realization of operative intervention for safety and health protection (MISOP);
- Drilling and permeability tests;
- Stratigraphic analysis;
- Jet grouting/injection design support;
- Step/Slug/Pumping tests;
- Design, realization and supervision of remediation;
- On site interferential risk safety costs, including document preparation;
- Assessment of aquifer contamination model;
- Removal of NAPL from wells and piezometers by using skimmer pumps;
- Evaluation of salt infiltration risk;
- Hypothesis of aquifer drainage and recharge sceneries;
- Monitoring plan’s definition;
- Modeling (geological, hydro geological, contamination);
- Risk analysis;
- Information system;
- Document preparation to be presented to Authorities
