The Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) consists in the assessment of the effects on environment due to plans and programs actuation; it is a continuous and articulated process, integrated in the complex process of planning and programming.
The SEA process is regulated by the European Directive 2001/42/CE, that extends the environmental assessment system, not only to projects, but also to plans and programs.
In Italy the communitarian directive has been transposed through the D.Lsg 152/2006 and, in particular, with its second part “Procedures for EAI, SEA and IPPC; this law has been recently modified by the D.Lsg 4/2008 on “Additional corrective and supplementary measures to the D.Lsg 3/4/2009 N° 152”.
SARTEC has accrued the know-how to develop SEA services through the experience in environmental assessment impact studies and projects, energetic plans and research projects. In the development of the projects, SARTEC uses a multidisciplinary approach and its capability of team leading with university and other research centers.
